Kapital Clothing for Kraftsmanship and Kool Klothing

Kapital Clothing

KAPITAL Clothing is “one of Japan’s hottest brands” according to Lonely Planet.

It is a mainstay of the Japanese menswear community. Yet, it is not mainstream. The KAPITAL store in Ebisu, near the Daikanyama area, is a hot spot for unique and dope pieces.

KAPITAL Clothing Brand history

KAPITAL Clothing was founded in 1984. The name takes its origin from the city of Kojima, that is known as the “Denim Capital” of Japan. The company borrowed heritage production techniques from vintage American workwear.

Kapital originally focused exclusively on denim.

It is mainly known for its menswear, but they have a cool range of clothing pieces for women and kids.
The shop is all about exceptional style: superior denim, handcrafted boots, a mixture of all kinds of fabrics, and super cool accessories. They may still have a pair of vintage wooden dildos nonchalantly exhibited on the second floor.

To get there take the JR Yamanote line to Ebisu, west exit.
